RMCA Scholarship Policy
Rocky Mountain Christian Academy admits students
of any race, sex, age, color, national and ethnic origin to all the
rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made
available to students at this academy, and this academy does not discriminate
on the basis of race, sex, age, color, national and ethnic origin in
administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship
and loan programs, athletic and other academy-administered programs.
Tuition Assistance Objectives
1. To assist needy families with financial aid:
The most basic and common “need-based” aid enabling families
to enroll their children at RMCA.
2. To meet the objective of academic excellence at RMCA:
“Merit-based” aid to assist in recruiting students whose
presence will benefit the school.
3. To assist the families of pastors: To allow the
children of pastors to attend RMCA. This is a discount agreement and
not classified as a scholarship.
Scholarship Requirements
1. Share-the-Burden Scholarships: RMCA
scholarships are generally offered from 10% to 50% of the tuition costs
per year. However, each case is handled individually, and the scholarship
committee has latitude in determining award amounts. The amount of aid
will be based on the assistance objectives. The intent of the program
is to assist families who otherwise would not enroll their children
in the school. It is also the intent of the program to allow a family
through scholarship to continue enrollment each year unless their financial
situation changes. Scholarships will be limited to the number provided
by available scholarship funds.
2. Christian Representation: RMCA through the scholarship
program will make every attempt to allow Christian families the opportunity
to afford the tuition. The intent of RMCA is to offer excellent Christian
education to Christian families.
3. Yearly Evaluations: Scholarships are granted for
the current school year only and must be renewed or applied for annually.
4. Scholarship Process: All applicants must meet and
maintain the requirements for eligibility and must complete all of the
required steps of the evaluation process, unless otherwise outlined
in this policy.
Scholarship Eligibility
1. Academic Standard: A Rocky Mountain
Christian Academy student is expected to maintain a “C”
average or above to continue to qualify for tuition assistance. At the
end of each semester, the student’s academic progress will be
reviewed. Students not maintaining satisfactory grades may become ineligible
for continued assistance.
2. Acceptable Behavior: A student is expected to behave
appropriately at RMCA. Disciplinary action taken against a student may
result in a loss of tuition assistance.
3. Parental Standard: The parents or guardians of scholarship
students are required to notify the school of any changes in their financial
or marital status.
4. RMCA Standard: RMCA reserves the right to review
and cancel the financial aid awards at any time because of changes in
financial resources, residency, marital status, or failure to pay tuition
amounts in a timely fashion, or because of the recipient’s failure
to remain in good academic or behavioral standing.
