2009 Summer Packet
May 18, 2009
Dear RMCA Parents,
Congratulations! Your family made it to the close of another school year and the beginning of a well-deserved summer vacation! We too are looking forward to the summer. I will have the privilege of growing deeper in my understanding of classical Christian education by attending a summer conference and look forward to being reminded about the importance of what we do here at RMCA.
To give you a head start on planning for next fall, please review the materials enclosed in this packet.
School Supply Lists: Watch for those sales! In case you misplace them, these lists will also be available in many stores that carry school supplies, and online at RMCA’s website.
Uniform policy: In response to parent feedback, there have been a couple of minor changes to the uniform policy. They include no specification on the number of buttons on polo shirts (as long as they are modestly buttoned up) and the option to wear short-sleeved, solid white t-shirts under polo or oxford shirts. In addition, the clarification that leggings are not allowed has been added (tights are still okay). I encourage you to look it over and make sure your child’s school clothing is in conformance to these standards.
Back-To-School Night: A school-wide Back-To-School Night will be held Monday evening, August 17th. More specific information will be included with a reminder later in the summer. And, don’t miss the first day of school on Wednesday, August 19th! A 2009-10 school calendar is enclosed and available online.
Class lists will be posted on Sycamore and in the office on Friday afternoon, August 14th.
Tuition Billing: Those families who chose a 12-month payment plan will receive an invoice for payment due in June. Those who chose a 10-month plan will make their first payment in August.
Should you need any assistance from the office over the summer, please feel free to contact us at the phone or email address below. The summer office hours are 9:00-3:00, Monday through Thursday. We will be closed June 22-July 11.
We look forward to seeing you next school year!
Sincerely,
Sylvia Robinson, Ph.D.
K - 8 Principal
P.S. Reading over the summer is one of the most important activities to build students’ skills and minds—not to mention giving them an advantage for the fall! Mrs. Overturf has designed another great summer reading program for RMCA students to “Shoot for the Stars!” Participation guidelines are included on this form.
